We're quite fortunate that Nature's feathered creatures graced our garden. There's always an abundance of birds flying around. Having our lovebirds adds to the merriment. Especially when the wild birds scavenge our lovebirds food. Twittering and their fluttering keeps our garden alive and interesting.
Just recently, we've noticed this particular bird going back and forth on our ficus tree. Upon closer inspection, it turned out that they're preparing a nest!! Of all places or trees to make a home, they chose our ficus tree! :D That's quite an honor!
Knowing that it's going to take them sometime before they'll finish their nest, we've decided to help them a lil bit. We've scattered around the area some cotton and coconut barks. That surely speeded up their nest building. That by the time Easter came around, they've laid their eggs!!
Two weeks after Easter, their eggs hatched! Two lovely lil birds...
We've researched what species of local birds we have nesting on our garden and it turned out to be the Yellow Vented Bulbul (Pycnonotus goiavier).

Balimbing
Balimbing refers to what is commonly known as "starfruit". Here in the Philippines, the term balimbing connotes to turncoat or double-cara (two faced) nature of a person/s. Such traits are commonly found in politicians where they switches allegiance to one party to the other or whichever suits them the best foot forward for their advancement in their so called party.
In my observation, such characteristics is not only true to politicians but as well as to a everyday life. People switching from one group of friends to the next one! Just waiting for the right opportunity to pounce to lay out their agenda to unsuspecting foes/friends.
They take it to a certain extent where they do their attack quite openly and when the time comes, out comes the other nature, the "balimbing". The slyness of how they slither through unsuspecting victims... extending an olive branch to mend the old flames... concocting new stories to their benefit and gaining the trust of the naive victim.
Funny how one can switching from one persona to the other for their own gain or benefit just to make themselves "appear" amiable to all concerned! Slithering from one person to the next... unbeknownst to the that person, he/she is slowly being poisoned or brainwashed. It must be quite a talent to convince one... I bow to their uncanning ability!
But as they say, the bad deeds that has been done is never that far from one's backyard. A person's future is always shadowed by his/her past... Just have a look behind you... in front of you, by your side... the facets of your life will always cast a shadow no matter how far you try to distance yourself from the deeds you've done to others...
